2. Using the models below and this resume example , type up your own!

The Heading of your resume includes your name, address, and contact information.  Make sure your email address is appropriate!

Your Education section should include BHS and any community college classes you have taken.  Remember to spell out abbreviation (AC is Academic Choice, AHA is Arts and Humanities, and so  on). Be sure to include a little about you accomplished while in high school.

Your Experience includes ANYTHING you have done outside of school.  Include all paid work, volunteer positions, and any responsibilities you have at home or community.

The Skill & Interests section is where you can mention special aspects about you and what you enjoy doing in your spare time.  Make sure to distinguish between conversational fluency (you can get by speaking) in another language vs. literacy (you can read and write in the other language).

• YouthWorks Winter job application window opens October 1st!   City of Berkeley YouthWorks Job application window is open!  YouthWorks places local youth in summer jobs that last up to 7 weeks, for up to 30 hours per week, earning $12 per hour, beginning in early July. • The Downtown Berkeley YMCA is looking for volunteers ages 16 and older who are interested in gaining experience in early childhood education, youth development, fitness and wellness, and customer service. We offer opportunities that are flexible to meet your schedule, but ask for a minimum of 6 month commitment. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.  CIEE Study Abroad opportunities

The priority application deadline is December 1^st (this is when we award the majority of our scholarships and when students have the best chance of getting their first choice destination, as the application allows students to select two alternate programs, and students who apply by November 1^st will be automatically entered in a drawing to win a free flight).

We offer three types of programs:

1. Language and Culture Programs (4 weeks, 60 hours of instruction, pre- & post-proficiency testing so students can participate in any program/language/destination of choice (1 year of language study required for all French and Spanish programs; 2 years of language study required for “Intensive” programs), most programs are with host families and students have the option to receive four college credits for their language and culture program – read more about it here

2. Service and Leadership Programs (3 weeks, 45 hours of international community service with certificate, workshops in intercultural communication and leadership skills, and approx. 10 hours of basic language instruction in local languag

3. Global Discovery Programs (3 weeks, approx. 40 hours of subject field work with certificate, approx. 10 hours basic language instruction in local language)

Scholarships are available from 10% (merit only) to 100% (merit + need). You can also view an online presentation on the application instructions here. The scholarship application is within the general online application, and the short essay questions regard reasons/fit for wanting to participate, challenges experienced and expected in the program and strengths you would contribute to the program (culturally, linguistically, socially, leadership skills, communication skills, global perspective, etc.). CAREER EXPLORATION

1. Tradeswomen, Inc. is holding WOMEN Can Build Career Fair on October 21st, 2016 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, 23217 Kidder Street., Hayward, CA. The Career Fair is a hands-on event so women can experience the type of work the different trades perform such as sheet metal workers, carpenters, operating engineers, etc. Each table to staffed by apprenticeship coordinators and women currently in the construction trades.
