Olla Podrida is Berkeley High’s student-run yearbook and has been publishing since 1895, making it the longest-running publication on campus. The yearbook staff is a Fine Arts (f) CTE class run by student editors and advised by Amanda Marini.

DISTRIBUTION
Distribution of the 2026 yearbook will occur during “Dead Week” in May this spring.
We may have some books available for cash sales for $110 during distribution, but the availability of books after pre-order is not guaranteed.
PURCHASE 2027 AD SPACE:
Here is your opportunity to dedicate an ad in the yearbook to your child, loved one or for your group of friends. This ad, which you create using easy templates in our design platform can include a loving message to an individual or group along with appropriate photos of them. Ad space is priced based on dimensions within a page. All ads are full color.

AD POLICIES:
- The publications will not accept advertising for products that are illegal for minors to purchase and/or use.
- Ads purchased by parents or students for senior recognition must adhere to the Yearbook templates.
- Memorial Ads may only be purchased for students who passed during the school year and must be approved by the family of the deceased.
- Advertising that appears in the Yearbook is not necessarily endorsed by the Yearbook or its staff members, editorial board or adviser.
BHS Yearbook Editorial Policy
The Berkeley High School Yearbook, Olla Podrida, is a designated public forum for student expression without prior review by school officials in which students make all final decisions on content.
Opinions expressed by students quoted in the Yearbook are those of the interviewee and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Yearbook or any BUSD community member. Any opinions or views expressed in advertisements do not necessarily reflect those of the Yearbook.
We encourage students, staff, and the community to submit photos to the Yearbook, but do not guarantee those photos will be included. Senior quotes submitted by graduating seniors do not reflect the opinion of the Yearbook and are not guaranteed to be included.
Student and senior portraits must be taken by the deadlines to be included in the Yearbook.
Ads must adhere to the Yearbook guidelines to be included. Ad space is limited and first come, first served.
Mission Statement:
The Berkeley High Yearbook Staff of Olla Podrida work to create a book that reflects the events of the year at BHS and the diversity of our students. We work to publish complete and accurate coverage through journalistically responsible, ethically reported, and edited content. Student-determined expression promotes democratic citizenship through public engagement diverse in both ideas and representation.
