We are coordinating the testing season and this email is specifically about CAASPP (CAST and SBAC).
All Juniors and Seniors will be participating in State Testing in April. Last year we had a participation rate of 77% and this year we need to reach at least 95%. Together, we can do this!
Here is a brief schedule of when we will administer the test
Who takes the test?
-
Seniors this year must take the CAST Science test because they did not take it last year
-
Juniors take CAST and SBAC Math/English
Why do these tests matter?
-
This data is reported to the state, it used in our accreditation process and is shared with our communit
-
This data can be used to support student achievement for intervention purposes
-
Passing SBAC English for bilingual students is a requirement to earn the Seal of Biliteracy
-
Students who earn a score of proficiency in English or Math can use these scores as a placement into college-level courses upon enrollment in many colleges.
Take a look at the SBAC and CAST practice tests on the website and feel free to share this with your students.
We will be raffling off gift cards for students who complete each section of the SBAC and CAST. Please encourage students to be prepared and on time for testing.
