Unfortunately BHS will be cancelling the March 13th SAT due to insufficient staffing for the exam, despite multiple efforts to recruit. We apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to work on staffing for our May 8th SAT.
All students registered for this exam will receive notifications from the College Board via email, including information about their full refund. We have asked College Board to send this information as quickly as possible.
What will happen with other SAT and ACT exams this Spring? We are currently working to secure enough staff for the May 8th SAT. Please continue to check our website for updates.
Do I need the SAT or ACT for my college applications? Most colleges and universities have decided to make the SAT and ACT optional for students applying to attend school in ’22-’23. Please check here for regular updates on colleges that are test-optional; if a college is not on the list, students should search online to see the most current admissions information.
What should I do if I still want to take the SAT? At this point, students can still call College Board to sign up for future SAT dates that still have availability; we encourage you to do so quickly, as College Board does not allow us to limit sign-ups to Berkeley High students. If BHS is full, we suggest you sign-up to test at other locations. You can also look here for SAT COVID-19 updates from College Board.
We understand that this may cause a great deal of stress and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to navigate this unprecedented time together.
