Dear Junior Families,
I hope you are able to take a break and care for yourselves and your families during this vacation. I am writing to notify you that currently we are planning to administer the PSAT for Juniors only on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021. Registration will open on Wednesday, January 6 at 7am with very limited spaces available, so seats will be first come, first served. This registration is deliberately close to the test date because we will have the most current information about whether the Shelter in Place order has changed, been lifted or extended.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/
Berkeley High School is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a debit or credit card available before beginning registration. Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding mailing payment. Here are the important dates for the registration process:
Wed, Jan 6, 2021 at 7:00 AM – Registration Begins and remains open until Fri, Jan 8, 2021 at 11:00 PM – or all spots have been filled, based on availability according to health guidelines at that time
Sat, Jan 9, 2021 – Registrations that have not been paid for will be canceled.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM?
All students and staff are required to wear a mask or protective face covering during test administration. Students won’t be allowed in the test center without a mask, which is required for the duration of testing.
Students must be seated at least 6 feet apart during testing.
Students must confirm a series of statements (more below) prior to entering the test center or testing room.
Students who violate the requirements put in place by their test center or College Board should be dismissed from the test center; if this happens their scores will be canceled and they won’t receive a refund.
Please keep in mind that, because this test is on a school day, students will miss classes. Our attendance office will excuse this absence so your student can contact their teachers to make up assignments.
We are only able to offer this test because we are following strict guidelines approved by the City of Berkeley, though be aware that this is subject to change due to changes in our Covid status. We will share information, including if we need to cancel the January 26 PSAT as it is available, through the E-tree as well as the BHS website.
