Due to local health orders, the SAT at Berkeley High School on August 29th will be cancelled. All students registered for this exam will receive notifications from the College Board via email, including information about their full refund. Students can call the College Board to sign up for later test dates; we still have open spaces for the December SAT.
What will happen with other SAT and ACT exams this Fall? We will continue to work with local health officials to determine on a case-by-case basis whether conditions will allow us to host upcoming exams. We will keep you informed if we need to cancel other exams in the future.
Do I need the SAT or ACT for my college applications? Most colleges and universities have decided to make the SAT and ACT optional for students applying to attend school in ’21-’22. Please check here for regular updates on colleges that are test-optional; if a college is not on the list, students should search online to see the most current admissions information.
What should I do if I still want to take the SAT? At this point, students can still call College Board to sign up for future SAT dates that still have availability; we encourage you to do so quickly, as College Board does not allow us to limit sign-ups to Berkeley High students. If BHS is full, we suggest you sign-up to test at other locations. You can also look here for SAT COVID-19 updates from College Board.
